Why junk journal?
Beacuse it is such a great way of using up papers, vintage pieces, old planners, book pages, magazines, embellishments, fabric scraps, ribbons, washi tape... Anything and everything you may have collected and never know how to use.
Because they make me happy.
Because color is one of the most important things in my creations, whether journals, art, scrapbook pages, color is always important.
Because going through your stash of supplies is much easier when you have a specific color in mind. I love hunting for lovely little bits and pieces to add to my journals. Having a strict (the more stuff you've accumulated, the stricter your colors choices should be, if you find going through your supplies overwhelming) color scheme for each section of the journal makes the process shorter and simpler.
Join me in 🌈Create a Rainbow Junk Journal🌈 and let's make something special! Seeing these lovely keepsakes coming together is such a fun and joyous process!
I will walk you through all the steps, start to finish. We will assemble our inserts in 2 different styles, and then decorate them. By the end of the class, you will have a special journal that is totally you, you will have used up those bits and pieces that are always piling up, and you will have endless ideas for the next journal.
The supplies needed for this class are papers, any kind you have lying around. I will be using supplies from my stash, I did not purchase anything especially for this class. I will be using papers, washi, watercolor paper, watercolors, fabric scraps, sewing machine, ribbon, trims and more, but besides some sort of paper to build your own journal, nothing in my list is a must have.
For my journal binding I'm using a super simple technique, and I do recommend having an old or new book with a hard cover you are willing to take apart and alter. I also use Duct tape and highly recommend it for the spine of the journal. While I think finding the perfect book cover for your journal is great fun, it is absoutley not necessary. There are other supplies that one can use instead, like ready made traveler's notebook style covers, if you find the idea of altering a book too intimidating.
Who is this class for? Anyone who wants to create their own unique junk journals. These journals can be used as gifts, for journaling, art journaling, scrapbooking, planning, memory keeping and anything else your heart desires to put in a journal.
No prior knowledge is necessary, just a willingness to play!
Once you enroll in the course you'll get immediate access to all the lessons, which can be downloaded to your computer if you chose to do so.
